This conference is the first Conference and WGPP (Working Group and Project Planning) meeting of the TD1308 COST action ORIGINS : www.life-origins.com

 The whole conference is divided in 3 parts

  • a plenary session on Monday, including one special talk for the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the first exoplanet (51 Pegasi b), one on the Rosetta mission related to the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and 15 others invited/contributed talks related to the Working Groups (WG) activities
  • a special session on Tuesday morning on planetary atmospheres
  • 3 parallel sessions on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and Thursday on

                        – Formation and Evolution of habitable planets

                        – From inanimate matter to living systems

                        – Biosignatures and abiotic processes

            as well as a discussion on outreach and education in astrobiology.

The first 2 sessions (full Monday and Tuesday morning) are open to all researchers, COST members or not. The parallel sessions are devoted to WG members only, but any researcher interested in participating in these sessions is welcome to contact the chair of the action.

Key dates are the following:

1st Dec 2014: Opening of registration and contributed abstract (oral and poster) submission.
16th Jan 2015: Contributed abstract submission deadline.
30th Jan 2015: Selection of contributed communications completed and notified to authors.
13th Feb 2015: Registration deadline. Late registration will be possible with an extra fee of 50 €.
22nd Mar 2015: Arrival day – Welcome to Porto!
